The header picture is my hometown of Coney Island which was a great place to grow up in the 50s and 60s. It has fallen on hard times in the past 40 years but still to this day, a magical place that calls me home on every trip to New York. Things are changing in Coney Island and there is a lot of controversy about how it should proceed. For a more detailed account of growing up in Coney Island check out the Coney Island Houses blog. For up to the minute news, check out my friends at Kinetic Carnival – The Coney Island Blog.

Here’s a great picture I took of the Parachute Jump, Coney Island’s most distinctive landmark, affectionately dubbed Brooklyn’s Eiffel Tower.
